Behind the Label: ’70s Fever

The ’70s as an Atmosphere

I’ve always believed the ’70s weren’t just a decade—they were an atmosphere. You didn’t simply live in it, you sank into it. Orange shag rugs under bare feet. Bell bottoms sweeping across sticky dance floors. Glitter catching in your hair as a disco ball spun overhead.

The air was thick with contradictions: peace and love, rock and soul, rebellion and romance.

The Vessel: Copper Glow

For ’70s Fever, I wanted every detail to feel like stepping into that mood. The copper vessel isn’t just a color choice—it’s a gleam, a glow, the metallic echo of a mirrored disco ball, softened and made intimate.

The cassette tape wears a hypnotic disco swirl, the kind of pattern you could lose yourself in at 2 AM, somewhere between “Stayin’ Alive” and “Go Your Own Way.”

The Fragrance: Tuberose + Frangipani

The scent is tuberose and frangipani—white florals as unapologetic as the era itself. Back then, perfume wasn’t meant to whisper. It was meant to linger.

Halston was everywhere—a smooth, sensuous floral perfume worn like a signature, memorable and unmistakable. I wanted that same confidence. These blooms feel exactly right: creamy, head-turning, and just a little dangerous.

The Memories

When I close my eyes, I can still see the rooms of that time. My Nana’s avocado green refrigerator with its matching dishwasher. The wood-paneled walls that seemed to drink in the light. Low-slung velvet couches in jewel tones that dared you not to sink in.

And always, the TV humming in the background:

  • Soul Train with its unstoppable moves

  • The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour with its sparkle and banter

  • Match Game with its cheeky humor

  • The Price Is Right with my Nana leaning forward, guessing every number

  • Good Times reruns on quiet afternoons, the laughter as warm as sunlight slanting through the blinds

A Love Letter to the ’70s

’70s Fever is my love letter to that decade—part flower child, part dance floor royalty. It’s the hum of a Fleetwood Mac chorus in the background, the glint of gold hoop earrings swaying to the beat, the promise of one more song before the night gives in.
